After nearly two years of dedicated work, we’re ready to begin sharing the latest version of the Untappd app with the community. We’re excited to get this into the hands of beer drinkers and badge chasers across the world and look forward to continuing to build and improve the app more often on this newest platform.

Note: Not everyone will see this version immediately available to download, but we are working to roll out these changes over the next couple of weeks to everyone. If you do not have the update yet, check back soon! Update now available globally!

First, thank you to the thousands of beta testers and Untappd Moderators that tested and sent in feedback during our months-long beta test. Your feedback and insight was an important part of making this version a success. If you’re interested in beta testing future versions of Untappd, sign up on Android or iOS.

One of the biggest changes you’re likely to notice is Dark Mode! It was, by far, the most frequent request we’ve received since the last major version was introduced back in 2017. While the iconic yellow interface is something we’ve been known for since the beginning, we know that this latest addition will make Untappd easier to use in the dark and lay the foundation for future improvements (think themes!).

Another major change also requires upgrades to log out and sign back in to their account in order to use the app. If you have any issues signing in, please reach out to our team at help@untappd.com or on our Support page. We’re ready to help!

You may also notice that some features in the app have a “Coming Soon” screen. While we work to write and improve these features, stay tuned to these release notes and keep your app updated to get the latest. We’re tracking toward the addition of the following features in a future version:

• Seeing your own check-ins on venue and verified venue
• Collaboration beers displayed on Brewery pages
• Beer results in search and beer page say they’re on a list 
• Quick Check-in from search results
• Beer Style guide text and detail pages with similar beers
• Displaying links to event details from profiles
• Some Advanced Settings: Map app, Face ID edit, Disable camera
• Vibrate on toast button press on Android
• In-app notifications for DMs
• Check-in content in DMs
• Nametag and friend nametag scanning
